Governor Salim Mvurya has called upon the county's residents to support MCAs vying for the seat on a Jubilee ticket.

Addressing residents at Kinango where he opened a dispensary, Mvurya said electing Jubilee aspirants in all elective posts starting with MCAs will ensure a better working relationship in the next county government. The outspoken governor said that several county governments experience internal wrangles because of electing MCAs who are in different parties from the governors. The governor also urged residents to be vigilant during the upcoming elections to ensure they vote for leaders who will advocate for their rights.“We urge residents, time is here, we should not be cheated by people, let us make sure that we have leaders who work together. This coming election, let us get a team that we shall work together and I assure you, if we go on a second term, we shall develop more,” said Mvurya, as quoted by CitizenTV. Mvurya also expressed confidence in retaining his seat come August despite defecting from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). The governor affirmed he will rally the residents to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election to ensure Kwale residents continue enjoying the fruits of development.
