Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has urged his arch-rival Miguna Miguna to back his re-election in the forthcoming general polls.

The political differences between the two leaders were evident when they met at the Jericho Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church on Saturday.

Miguna Miguna launched an attack at the incumbent addressing him as an outgoing county boss, adding that every leader will leave office when the right time comes.

He also told Kidero to start packing his political belongings to vacate office because his 'days are numbered'.

“Elections, not selection, have to be done after every five years. This means that no position is a blank cheque. Right up from the presidency, to the MCA, everyone has to go and beg for votes if they want to be re-elected,” Miguna said as quoted by Standard.

When it came to Kidero’s turn to address the faithfuls, he did not spare him either.

The outspoken governor took a swipe at the aspirant for failing to tell the people that he was among the contestants in the Nairobi Governorship race.

The governor however challenged Miguna to vote him in the upcoming general polls because of his exemplary performance scoreboard.

“I have listened to all that my brother Miguna has said, regarding the requirements we need to look at while electing leaders in the coming elections. I will be seeking the position of Nairobi Governor, and since I didn’t hear you mention a particular seat you will be contesting, I hereby ask for your vote,” the governor said.
