The opposition National Super Alliance is constituted by a team of leaders with sober minds, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has said.
Kingi who in a tour of Mariakani, Kaloleni, Rabai and Mazeras said Kenyans have lost hope because under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration Kenyans’ optimism to live in a better country had faded.“The national government under President Uhuru Kenyatta has decided to fight devolution. Under the Jubilee government, Kenyans have witnessed a high cost of living, highest levels of corruption, misuse of public funds and widespread tribalism,” Kingi, a former cabinet minister said.“Jubilee has made Kenya a nation of the few in distribution of national resources. This is why we as NASA, want to come in and bring sober leadership and move Kenyans ahead. He said Uhuru does not support devolution which is currently the country’s development cornerstone.Kingi is one of opposition’s dependable leaders from Coast region. He, together with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is expected to play a pivotal role in giving Jubilee a run for its money ahead of the August 8, poll.He has been critical of Uhuru, his deputy William Ruto and the entire Jubilee government. The county chief alleges the present regime has little to show Kenyans in economic growth and does not therefore deserve a second term.“Under a Raila government, Kenyans will be treated as one. The Coastal people will finally have a place in government and experience robust development than before,” he said.“Under Raila, tribalism will be buried and the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission report fully implemented to ensure we boldly address historical land injustices affecting the Coast people. We will speak the language of unity, love and harmony.”
