National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga on Thursday charmed Kilifi residents telling them to remain focused at ensuring the Jubilee administration is defeated after August 8.
Raila said Kenyans have little to celebrate today as government pays a deaf ear to the ordinary Kenyan’s plea of lowering the high cost of living. The opposition chief has constantly accused the Jubilee government of making the common Kenyan’s life difficult by failing to control the skyrocketing cost of basis commodities including maize flour, sugar and milk.He said hopes of prosperity among Kenyans had dwindled as the business environment continues to turn hostile. He spoke when he addressed rallies in Kilifi, Mariakani and Kaloleni in Kilifi County on Thursday during his first day of NASA leaders’ tour of the Coast.“I can hear your voices,” Raila who is taking a fourth stab at the presidency said.“We hear you. Under NASA it will be a Kenya for all Kenyans. That is our solemn promise.”Raila enjoys massive support in Coast and just like in 2013, he expects to trounce President Uhuru Kenyatta and garner more votes in the region he says has been under marginalization since independence.Governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Amason Kingi (Kilifi) and John Mruttu (Taita Taveta) are opposition leaders in the region projected to campaign for Raila ahead of the August general election.Raila says under his administration, there will be a framework through which the cost of basic commodities will be regulated.
