Mombasa County Jubilee Party coordinator Ali Mwatsahu has called on residents to turn up in their numbers to re-elect President Uhuru Kenyatta during today’s (Thursday) repeat presidential polls.Speaking on Wednesday in Mombasa, Mwatsahu also urged the residents not to disrupt the voting exercise, arguing that the move could hurt their future. He exuded confidence that the county will record a good voter turnout, despite heavy rains witnessed in the past three days."The heavy rains will not affect the voter turnout as it is temporary. People's votes will determine the next five years ahead of us," said Mwatsahu.Mwatsahu's calls come amid a charged campaign by NASA leader Raila Odinga asking his supporters to boycott the Thursday polls.According to the former Prime Minister, it is pointless for Kenyans to participate in an election that has an already predetermined outcome.Mr Odinga has been calling for electoral reforms within the electoral agency IEBC.He has since withdrawn from the presidential race.Odinga on Wednesday maintained that there will be no election today, and urged his supports to boycott the poll and stay away from polling stations.
