Balambala Parliamentary seat aspirant Abdi Omar Shurie has urged locals to vote wisely in the August 8 general election.

Shurie  wants locals to vote for leaders who will bring change in the constituency and the larger North Eastern region.

In an interview with Kenya News Agency,  Shurie said that North Eastern region has lagged behind in terms of development because of poor leadership.

The Jubilee Party aspirant noted that the region has the potential of registering development only if locals elect visionary leaders.

“North Eastern is poor in terms of infrastructure, food security and other issues because of bad leadership,” he said as quoted by the Kenya News Agency.

The Balambala MP hopeful asked locals not to be swayed by petty politicians who are out for their votes.

He urged locals to support his bid promising to push for massive development.

Shurie exuded confidence of ousting the incumbent Abdikadir Aden who he accused of neglecting and abandoning his constituents.

The aspirant at the same time appealed to politicians eyeing seats to champion peace ad desist from making statements that will trigger divisions among supporters.
