Two Orange Democratic Movement MPs have warned Gusii community against voting in Jubilee government in 2017 polls terming it as ‘corrupt and oppressive’.
The Jubilee government has been keen to wrestle out opposition ODM in the region that voted for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga overwhelmingly in 2013 polls.
Nominated Senator Janet Ong’era and Nyamira Women Representative Alice Chae vowed to rally against the ruling coalition saying g it was ‘dangerous’ to the economy of the nation.
“The Gusii community should not be hoodwinked by incentives given to some leaders by the state. We are tired of this corrupt and oppressive regime that has no interest of its citizens at heart,” Ong’era said.
“My appeal to you is that eat whatever little they give but vote an ODM government which will be inclusive. That is the only way we can make a difference,” she added.
Mrs Chae on her part accused Jubilee government of grand corruption and warned that the economy of the nation may shrink should Jubilee get reelected.
“We have seen NYS and Euro bond scams and that alone shows how dangerous Jubilee is to our economy. Should you make a mistake of reelecting them, and then be ready for tougher economic periods,” she said.
