Garissa Governor Nathif Jama has urged the residents to vote him in in the August polls based on his track record, promising to do more to ensure inclusivity in the composition of his administration.
The governor said that his administration had performed well in terms of initiating development projects despite many challenges.
Governor Jama, who expressed confidence that he will retain his seat said he would get the overwhelming support of the Samawadhal community because they trust his leadership.
Speaking in Garissa town on Tuesday, Jama said his development record speaks for itself, and he is confident he will win.
“Garissa people know I’m a results-oriented person. They will reelect me because of my achievements,” he said.
“Let my rivals prepare for a real fight because it won’t be a walk in the park, as they think. I’ve no doubt the people have confidence in me, not because of my clan orientation, but because of my value and service delivery,” he said.
Governor Jama also thanked Mr Omar Abdi for stepping down for him in what he terms as a bold decision, which should not be viewed as a weakness.
He termed the move as having the interests of the people of Garissa at heart.
