Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Garissa township residents to vote out National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale in the coming August 8 polls.
Speaking during campaign tour in Garissa Town on Sunday, the NASA deputy presidential flag bearer said that Duale has not done anything meaningful for the constituency.
Kalonzo claimed that Duale has been busy fighting the opposition at the expense of serving residents.
While campaigning for Farah Maalim’s bid to oust Duale, Kalonzo said that Garissa needs a leader who will push development agenda forward.
He said that Maalim has the qualities an experience to be the next Garisssa Township MP.
“Duale has been a disappointment and I am pleading you (locals) to send him home on August 8,” he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.
Kalonzo said that the constituency will register development if locals vote for Maalim.
He said that Maalim is sober and experienced leader who has their interests at heart.
The Wiper party leader also begged residents to endorse other Wiper candidate including Governor Nathif JAMA and woman rep Shukran Gure who are seeking re-election.
Maalim is seeking to send incumbent Aden Duale packing.
The former National Assembly Deputy speaker says that he has the numbers to oust Duale.
Duale is seeking re-election on Jubilee party and has dismissed Maalim’s bid to send him packing.
In the governor’s race, incumbent Jama is facing stiff competition in his re-election bid from Ali Bunow Korane vying on Jubilee ticket.
The woman rep race is crowded, with incumbent Shukran Gure seeking re-election on Wiper ticket. She faces stiff competition from Annab Subow contesting on Jubilee Party ticket.
