Wiper leader, Kalozo Musyoka has appealed to the Coastal people to turn out in large numbers come 2017 in order to vote out the Jubilee government.
Kalonzo said that the ability to register afresh would soon be made possible.
The party leader added that Coast residents would be given another chance to register as it was one of the conditions the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) demanded during the IEBC talks.
“Let Coast be like Malindi and show Jubilee that money cannot buy leadership,” he said.
Kalonzo was speaking in Bamburi, Mombasa where he attended a dinner organised by Wiper secretary of religious affairs Sheikh Twaha Omar.
“If Raila gets the ticket (to be the Cord flagbearer to face Jubilee’s Uhuru), Weta and I will support him. Likewise, when Weta gets the ticket," Kalonzo said.
The party leader went on to state that the Jubilee government do not have the interest of Muslims or the Coastal people at heart.
The Coastal area is known to be a stronghold of Cord but since the Jubilee government began investing in the area by initiating projects, including roads, Cord has begun feeling that the support of the Coastal people might shift to the Jubilee party.
According to the Independent electorate and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) statistics, the mass voter registration drive for the Coastal region this year in the months of February to March was 129,157 new voters.
