With both the ruling Jubilee and the opposition, Cord looking to increase the number of registered voters in their strongholds, that has been the clarion call from all leaders.

The opposition in particular has cancelled planned demonstrations over the recently signed into law Electoral Bill, to rally their supporters to register as voters.

Jubilee on the other hand has been strategizing on the same, with Deputy President William Ruto leading a host of other leaders in coming with plans to ensure they get the best from the registration exercise.

The opposition will be looking to strengthen by ensuring the over 1 million eligible voters from the Coast are registered, with most of them being in Mombasa and Kilifi.

“Each one of you must stand up to be counted, don’t ask what Cord is doing for you, ask what yourself what you are doing for Cord to take power in this country,” said Moses Wetang’ula on Wednesday.

“First things first, when this process of registration begins on the 15th, let’s put everything aside, let us go and get everybody registered as a voter,” said Deputy President William Ruto when he met Jubilee leaders on Tuesday.
