Residents of Nakuru Town West constituency have been urged to turn out in large numbers and register as voters.

Leaders and local politicians made the rallying call at Mazembe grounds during a soccer tournament.

Led by aspiring area MP Dr Erick Ogada, the leaders said massive voter registration by the locals was the surest way of sending home bad leaders.

"Kindly turn out in large numbers and register as voters so that we you can elect good leaders and get rid of those who do nothing to better youe lives," Ogada said on Sunday.

His sentiments were echoed by Japheth Muroko of the 'baba while you were away' mantra, who added that massive voter registration by supporters of the Cord coalition was the only way option that could bring to an end the corrupt Jubilee regime.

"If you look around, you will realise that all those who voted for Jubilee are now grumbling because the regime is too corrupt. Let's all register and send them home,"he said.

The registration exercise kicks off today in various wards across the country.
