Residents of Jogoo, Kilo, Mitimingi, Kiptangwanyi village in Gilgil sub-county have threatened to boycott the next elections lamenting the poor state of roads in the area.

Residents said the road connecting the areas to  Elementaita is in very poor state.

Residents said it is always difficult when they have emergencies like taking a resident to a hospital.

"We always leave our work to go and vote for leaders but these people are not helping. Why should we go to vote again?" a resident posed.

"I won't vote, I don't see the essence of voting when these politicians promise to address issues but forget the moment they get elected," Josephine Wanjiku said.

According to John Kamau, 56, the recent low voter registration in the area is due to unmet promises leading to voter apathy.
