Kisumu Central Member of Parliament Ken Obura has cried foul after losing ODM’s repeat primaries in the region.
Obura dismissed the results of the repeat polls that were held, Tuesday after he was ousted by Gem Central MCA, Fred Ouda.
Ouda was declared the winner of the ODM tickect after garnering 6,694 votes followed by the former TNA secretary general Onyang’o Oloo who got 4,991 votes, while the incumbent garnered 1,040 votes.
According to the Returning Officer, Samson Odoyo, who declared the winner, results from nine polling station were not included in the final tally after the Presiding Officers in the polling centres abandoned the ballot boxes.
“Results that were not included were from the polling stations in my strongholds,” said Obura.
“They disappeared hence we did not include the results in the final tally,” Obura added as quoted by the Star.
The High court on Friday ordered for the repeat of the poll after Oloo, who ditched Jubilee and joined ODM in January, contested Ken Obura’s victory in the earlier primaries.
