Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria has refuted claims by Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau that his Jubilee ticket win was not legit.

This is after Kamua claimed that a fake voter's list was used during the aims that a fake voter’s list was used in the exercise.

Wa Iria 205, 941 votes against Kamau’s 118, 274 in the nominations exercise.

“I attained an excess of 87, 274 votes to those of Jameleck Kamau. It has not been shown that the alleged malpractices would have had the effect of altering the will of the people or the final outcome of the nominations,” Wa Iria said

Kamau who lost a petition cahllenging the polls wants fresh elections since he believes that the party used an incorrect register to conduct the nominations.
