Residents of Waberi village in Garissa County on Monday took to the streets to protest against the defamatory utterances made by the Garissa MP Aden Duale.
The residents chanted anti-Duale songs, calling for his immediate arrest and prosecution over incitement and hate speech.
Duale in his recent visits on his constituency was captured in a video saying the non-locals would be evicted out of the town because they would never vote for his preferred gubernatorial aspirant in the 2017 elections.
The residents, who are mostly from the Eastern part of the country said it was unfortunate that the majority leader uttered the statements even as the country is staring at ethnic clashes as witnessed in the 2007 post election skirmishes.
Duale's alleged hate speech remarks has attracted an online campaign from Kenyans and activists who are calling on the Inspector General to immediately arrest and prosecute the Jubilee politician.
In the past, the Garissa politician suffered a public humiliation for his 'pesa si ya mamako' statement that was considered as disrespect to Kenyan mothers.
