Newly appointed chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Eliud Wabukala has called on Kenyans to support the fight against corruption.
Wabuka who takes over from Mumo Matemu called on Kenyans to actively participate in the fight gainst but be not spectators on the sidelines.
"Kenyans, I appeal to you to take up your roles and support the fight against corruption. Do not watch from the sidelines and also do not part of the problem. Together we shall surely slay the dragon of corruption," said Wabukala.
The retired Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop was speaking during his swearing-in ceremony that was conducted on Monday.
Wabukala further stated that the fight against corruption will be both the county and national governments.
"Fighting corruption should not be left entirely to the commission. Cabinet secretaries , Principal secretaries, executive officers must take responsibility and should be held answerable for what happens in their departments," added Wabula.
Wabukala takes over from Matemu who resigned over allegations of being involved in the National Youth Service scam.
