Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop Eliud Wabukala has condemned a three judge bench ruling on gays and lesbians.
Speaking in Nakuru county, Wabukala has termed the ruling naive and unacceptable.
The archbishop argues the ruling contravenes both religious and African traditional values which do not recognise same sex marriages.
The Anglican archbishop said the constitution only recognises the family unit consisting of a union between a man and a woman.
The bishop said even in the Bible God ordained man to marry a woman for co-existence.
Wabukhala said the church will not relent in the fight for a family unit made up of a man and a woman in marriage.
On Monday the High Court ruled that gays and lesbians can register an umbrella body to fight and defend their rights.
