According to Wandayi, Retired Archbishop Eliud Wabukala would only succeed if given enough political goodwill while in office.

"The fight against corruption in the country needs to be supported by legislators. This is why previous chairs of EACC did not make it while at the helm of the anti-corruption body," said Wandayi as quoted by Radio Maisha.

While speaking during a National Assembly session on Tuesday, Wandayi further claimed that men of statue and commendable abilities have been at the helm of EACC, but still failed to be successful.

Wandayi further believes that for Wabukala to succeed, political interference should be avoided at EACC.
