Nyamira County has been on the receiving end with Auditor General questioning their spending in 2014/15 financial year.

In 2014, the county was also at the centre of controversy when auditing report indicated that Sh7m was used to construct main gate to county hospital, a figure which subjected the John Nyagarama led government into criticism.

And on Thursday, County Secretary Erick Onchana and County Executive in charge of Gender and Youths Peter Omwansa, reportedly took off to unknown destinations when the officials raided their offices.

"The County Secretary's phone is off but I have spoken to his secretary Nancy, She tells me that she was held by EACC officials," said Peter Nyaruri, a close ally of Onchana.

Omwansa is believed to have walked on foot to the nearby Nyabite market, 3KM from from his offices.

The EACC officials are said to be currently questioning members of County Public Service Board who were reportedly caught holding a secret meeting.
