Former Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru has expressed confidence that she will be cleared by the EACC before contesting for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat.

According to Waiguru who was speaking on Tuesday during an interview on the local media outlet, the anti-graft body will clear her name because she is clean in regards to accusations of embezzling money meant for the National Youth Service.

"I am confident of being cleared by the anti-graft commission as I am still innocent. I was a whistleblower in the mentioned graft case," said Waiguru.

Waiguru has declared her ambition to go for Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat in 2017 after she receiving her TNA party membership certificate.

She will be rivaling the incumbent governor Joseph Ndathi.
