According to the Star newspaper, Waiguru will tomorrow (Saturday) announce her bid for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat.

The star reports that the former Devolution CS will hold a meeting in Kerugoya with professionals and some politicians before declaring her bid for the county top seat.

Waiguru picked her TNA membership card before proceeding to Kirinyaga.

“Today (Friday) I will be at TNA offices in Nairobi to pick my membership card before proceeding to Kirinyaga to meet the people,” she said as quoted by the Star on Friday.

The former Devolution CS is expected to vie for the Kirinyaga top seat on the newly formed Jubilee Party.

Waiguru’s interest in the Kirinyaga top seat is likely to create a political storm with other politicians who have shown interest in the seat among them incumbent governor Joseph Ndathi who is aiming to retain the seat in next year’s election.

Kirinyaga central MP Joseph Gitari has also declared interest in the seat.

Waiguru had earlier declared interest in vying for the Nairobi governor seat that has already attracted several contestants.

Her decision to shift to Kirinyaga is not yet known.
