Kirinyaga governor aspirant Anne Waiguru has said she is optimistic that she will clinch the seat come August 8, 2017.
The former devolution cabinet secretary said she will beat her competitors' hands down.
Waiguru will face NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua and the incumbent Joseph Ndathi, who is running on an independent ticket.
Speaking after she was handed the Jubilee Party nomination certificate at Sifa Garden in Kutustown, Waiguru said she is ready to transform lives.
"Kirinyaga is a Jubilee Zone and those competing with us in those other small parties will be defeated," Waiguru said, as quoted by The Star.
She continued, "I ask my competitors to support President Uhuru Kenyatta but wait for 2022 to contest for the governor position."
Waiguru said she will unite all the Jubilee nominees and ensure Jubilee party clinches all the elective seats in Kirinyaga.
Jubilee Party regional coordinator Hudson Aluvanze asked the nominees to stay united so as to strengthen the party.
