Kirinyaga governor-elect Ann Waiguru has thanked supporters for giving her the mandate to lead the county.
The former Devolution CS has thanked the voters for believing in her.
She has pledged to work with all elected leaders towards development.
Waiguru reminisced the hard battles she fought to win the seat against a backdrop of corruption accusations leveled against her in the run-up to the party nominations.
"Heading to the Jubilee party nominations early this year, many played down my chances of winning the governorship ticket, but by God’s grace and the support of the people of Kirinyaga, we did it!
"Our victory today is a clear statement that there is a God in heaven who sees the injustices meted out to his people and vindicates those who have been subjected to fallacious accusations," Waiguru said in a statement on Friday.
She trounced Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua and incumbent Joseph Ndathi.
