Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has been picked to lead President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election campaigns ahead of repeat poll due next month.
Area MCAs said they chose the former Devolution CS because she is a 'good organiser' who will ensure President Kenyatta gets almost 100 per cent votes from the region.
"We have resolved that Governor Waiguru should be in charge of leading the campaigns. No one else should be given this responsibility," said Kerugoya MCA Murango Kamau during a briefing in Kutus town.
Kamau said the elected leaders and losers of August 8 polls have buried the hatchet and have joined hands to drum up support for Uhuru's re-election.
"October 17 fresh election is very critical and that is why we have teamed up together to conduct intensive door-to-door campaigns. We must ensure those who never participated in last month election do so this time round," the ward representative added.
