[Photo/sde.co.ke]Newly elected Kirinyaga governor, Anne Waiguru, is likely to deputise deputy president William Ruto's in 2022 elections. This is if Ruto will agree to pick her as his running mate as suggested by a number of Jubilee women politicians. The politicians who spoke during Waiguru's inauguration on Tuesday, August 22, lauded the former Devolution cabinet secretary saying he had made Kenyan women proud and proved that they can go for top positions in the country.Kajiado MP-elect, Peris Tobiko pleaded with the DP who was at the ceremony to help Waiguru rise in the national politics by choosing her as his running mate.“I would like to congratulate Ms Waiguru for being elected as the first female governor of this region. She has made the women of Kenya proud and I have faith in her to bring development in the area and thereafter become the Deputy President of Kenya,” Tobiko is quoted by Nation. Her sentiments were echoed by nominated senator Beth Mugo who pointed out that the Jubilee governor is fit for the job.“It is true Ms Waiguru is fit to be the Deputy President and she should go for the seat in the next General Election,” said Mugo.Twelve other elected MP's and nominated senators also agreed that Waiguru should deputise Ruto in the State House race. However, Ruto who has expressed interest in vying for the presidency seat come 2022, did not comment about the matter. He instead congratulated Waiguru for her victory.
