Biafra Youth Group (BYG) will have a reason to smile after Kiambu Youth and Sports CeC Michael Waikenda pledged Kshs. 50,000 to upgrade their car washing business in Thika Sub County.
The fund which was donated to the group members chairman Mr. Samuel Njuguna is meant to equip the organization with resources that will help expand their businesses which is booming in Thika region, Kiambu County.
According to Waikenda, the organization has gone a notch higher by creating employment for the youths in the region where atleast 20 people have benefited from the tiresome car wash job in the constituency.
The minister urged Kiambu youth to work towards development and create their own employment to eradicate poverty, drug and crime in not only Thika but the entire county.
“Let’s join hands and work towards development and eradicate crime, drugs and substance abuse which have eaten up our economy in Kenya,” said Waikenda.
The organization chairman on the other hand extended his gratitude to the county government of Kiambu and urged his peers to work extra hard and not to wait for the county to employ them.
Njuguna said that it only takes courage and determination believing one is capable and every person can make it in life as long as discipline is embraced.
He said that they have gain customers loyalty and very soon they will establish a mechanic in the area to boost their business and to make their ends meet in every corner of the Sub County.
However, Waikenda expressed his concerns with the number of drug users in the region and urged the BYG members to help the government to tame such a heinous behavior.
Waikenda and Njuguna were all speaking on Friday in Thika town.
