[Photo|Courtesy/Paul Njoroge]A section of Kiambu residents who seek medical services at Kiambu Level Four Hospital has criticized the county government for a deterioration of services at the facility. They say that the hospital has no medicine and one has to be sent outside the hospital to buy."I went there to take my child last week who had cut his leg and to be sewed, I had to part with Sh1500. After that, I was given a list of medicine which I was supposed to go and buy outside the hospital. The medicine cost me Sh2030. Is this really the government we wanted for a change?" Paul Njoroge from Ting'ang'a said on Wednesday.Regina Wanjiru, 35 years, and who hails from Ndumberi said that she paid for X-ray at Sh2500 when she sought treatment for a broken limb at the facility."The current county government is letting us down because most of these services the hospital is charging so high were either very cheap or free under Kabogo. We request the governor to look at these issues because health is key to county development," she said.Others said they do not understand why they are given KCB bank receipts upon payment of services.During former Governor William Kabogo's term, Kiambu county was hailed as a model of good medicare with several neighbouring county residents seeking services at Kiambu health facilities. The writer had not been able to get the hospital's comments on the matter by the time we went to press. Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Kiambu that you want Hivisasa to cover?
