Kabete MP, Ferdinand Waititu has expressed hope he will clinch Kiambu gubernatorial position in 2017.
Speaking on Thursday night during an interview, Waititu said his academic qualifications are valid and those challenging his eligibility for the race are in for a smear campaign.
" I was in Punjab University in India, where he (Kabogo) was also once a student and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Commerce. Those saying I don't have university qualifications are only spreading propaganda," said the Kabete lawmaker.
He however said he has nothing personal against his governor, William Kabogo only that they differ in views and opinions.
"I want to be categorically clear that the governor and I have no personal battles, it's just our ideas that are divergent. I want to serve the people of Kiambu to ensure they enjoy the fruits of devolution," he added.
"Everyone seeking any clarification on my academic credentials is free to come and view them", Waititu said.
Governor Kabogo took Waititu to court over allegations that he forged his academic documents. The matter is still in court.
