Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu has said he is determined to fight illicit brews and drugs at all cost.
This is after he visited Makwa village in Gatundu North sub-county where he joined residents for a public prayer meeting at Makwa shopping centre.
He was accompanied by area MP Wanjiku Wa Kibe, Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni wa Muchomba and area MCA Martin Githaiga.
During the event, they declared war on illicit brews and drugs especially at River Chania.
"This declaration is informed by deaths of young people in the recent past as a result of these brews and drugs," said Waititu on Sunday.
To rehabilitate alcoholics from the village, the governor started a feeding programme for them starting February 5, adding that 'I will facilitate and engage them in a cleanup exercises'.
