The Governor of Kiambu has come under heavy criticism over his push to introduce a law that will ensure that 70% of the jobs in the county are reserved for the natives.

Last week, the Kiambu County Assembly introduced a motion to make Waititu's push a reality.

Following this public censure, the governor has defended himself, saying that the move was constitutional.

''Devolution requires us to give 70% of opportunities to the majority communities and 30% for the minority.'' He argued in Kwale where the induction of governors was held.

Many Kenyans feel that the move is discriminatory in nature and should not be allowed to see the light of day.
