Kiambu County governor William Kabogo has said that Kabete residents made a wrong choice when they nominated Ferdinand Waititu to run for the parliamentary seat under the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP).
Speaking at Ruiru town on Saturday, Governor Kabogo said that Waititu does not deserve to be the area Member of Parliament claiming that Waititu does not reside in the county and is only interested to benefit himself at the expense of residents.
“Kabete people made the wrong choice by nominating Waititu to run for the parliamentary seat, Kabete Constituency has got so many potential people who can represent the people from there,” claimed Governor Kabogo.
The Governor said that Waititu has no interests of the Kabete people at heart adding that they (locals) have a chance to change things around.
He said that Kabete people need an MP who will spearhead and address their problems.
Kabogo said that time when leaders were imposed on people is over adding that locals must make their own choices.
The Kiambu Governor asked Waititu to stop dragging his name in his campaigns noting that they have nothing in common.
He accused Kabete Constituency aspirant Waititu of partnering with some county leaders to tarnish his name to the public.
Governor Kabogo however asked Kiambu residents not to listen to the propaganda allegedly being spread by the Waititu.
Waititu, the former Embakasi MP was nominated to run for the Kabete Parliamentary seat under JAP. The Kabete seat was left vacant following the brutal murder of George Muchai who was the area MP.
The by-election is slated for May 4 this year.
