Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has vowed to lead a peaceful demonstrations across the county if Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu will not have been arrested and prosecuted over alleged incitement by end of business, Tuesday.
Speaking at St John Happy Valley ACK church in Thika on Sunday, Waititu said that action must be taken against Governor Ngilu.
He said that the Kitui governor is not above the law or special not to be arrested and prosecuted.
“We are giving the Inspector General of Police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions until Tuesday evening to arrest and prosecute governor Ngilu, failure to which we will have no option but to call for peaceful demonstrations," Waititu said on Sunday.
The Kiambu governor accused the police of allegedly playing double standards in applying the law.
“If I was the one who had made the hateful remarks or even my brother Moses Kuria we would have been arrested and prosecuted by now,” the Kiambu governor fumed.
Waititu said that Ngilu has to be taken to court and forced to compensate owners of the two lorries that were allegedly burnt down in Kitui two weeks ago.
The governor vowed to petition the matter before the Council of Governors (COG) if the police fail to arrest and prosecute Ngilu.
Governor Ngilu has been accused of allegedly inciting youth to burn down vehicles found ferrying charcoal in Kitui County.

Kiambu politicians allege that Ngilu’s aided and instructed youth to torch down a lorry in Kanyororo two weeks ago.
Governor Ngilu has, however, denied the allegations, saying that she is not even aware of any vehicle that was torched as being reported.
The Kitui governor is expected to appear before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) for interrogation over the alleged incitement.
A section of Kitui politicians have vowed to stand with Ngilu defending her charcoal ban which they said was in the interest of environment conservation.
