Juja MP Francis Munyua and his Kabete counterpart Ferdinand Waititu on Tuesday led a section of Murera Ward residents in raiding illicit brew dens in the area.
The raid saw more than 2,500 litres of the brew seized and 29 people arrested.
Waititu and Munyua have been on the front line in seizing illicit brews consumption in Kiambu County with the residents backing them up.
On Monday, a section of Murera residents attempted to raid the dens on their own but the area administration police officers allegedly shot in the air to disperse the irate women who held a demonstration.
Speaking to his constituents, Munyua said that he will ensure that brewing ends in his area adding that he will push for the other leaders in the central region to partner with him in the fight.
“The police are against this fight and we will do it despite their opposition. I am going to mobilise my colleagues to ensure we finish this menace that is killing our young nation,” Munyua said.
Waititu said that he has already launched a crackdown on corrupt officers to ensure that the fight is intensified without opposition.
He called on women and church leaders in Kiambu County to help them in fight against illicit brews.
