The county government of Kiambu has pledged to tarmac feeder roads connecting the wards in the county.

This move, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu says, will to a great level raise the economy of the county.

“The construction of Gakoe-Mukuyu road in Githunguri sub-county is underway and the revamping of Waruhiu-Gate-Kanjai road, will begin soon,” said Waititu at Ngewa Ward on Wednesday. 

He was attending the burial service of Benedetta Muchiku Mbugua which was held at the Holy Family Miguta Catholic Parish.

Also, the Kiambu governor who was accompanied by his wife Susan, stressed the importance of agriculture in the county saying that the sector is often overlooked despite playing a pivotal role in the growth of county economy. 

"Together with the National Government, the county government has acquired Waruhiu School in Ngewa to see that the agricultural sector is catered for. Agriculture is among Jubilee Government’s Big 4 agendas," Waititu said.

He noted that Waruhiu School has been offering a variety of agricultural programs saying that it will be of great support to farmers as they will be trained on various farming courses.

The priest who led the funeral service, Father Kiarie, applauded governor Fedinard Waititu for his feisty battle against the production, supply, and drinking of illicit brew in the county.
