Waititu has in the recent past been criticised over his leadership style, which has been termed as a ‘one-man show’.Last week, Deputy Governor James Nyoro hit out at the county boss, accusing him of running the county alone without even involving the County Executive Committee (CeC) members.“What has been happening in Kiambu is a one-man-show. There has not been any consultation between the Governor and the county executive members and, particularly, the deputy governor,” said Nyoro. The DG's claims were backed by Kiambu Women Representative Gathoni Wa Muchomba, who also accused the self-proclaimed Baba Yao of sidelining her in running the county."The governor doesn't pick our calls, he usually says he will call you back which he rarely does. And if you have him in a meeting to engage and consult with him, he disappears because he doesn't want to hold a discussion with you," Wa Muchomba claimed.Waititu on Friday addressed the reports, revealing why he has been sidelining a section of Kiambu leaders when it comes to running the county.Speaking during an event at Kikuyu market, Waititu said he is aware that some leaders are eying his seat in the 2022 general election. He cited the 2022 succession politics as the reason why he will not heed the leaders’ advice, which he argued might be cunning and deceiving. “I am aware these leaders are preparing to contest against me come 2022. I cannot take their advice. I will only listen and take advice from voters because it is them who will vote for me come 2022," said the Governor.
