Kiambu governor-elect Ferdinand Waititu has been sworn into office.
The swearing in ceremony was held at Ndumberi grounds in Kiambu after Waititu defeated his rival William Kabogo by a huge margin of votes.
‘Baba Yao’ had earlier humiliated Kabogo in the Jubilee party nominations to fly the ticket.
Waititu, a critic of Kabogo says that he has an agenda to transform the county into an economic hub.
He says that his top agenda will be to create jobs, boost the economy and eradicate illicit brew menace.
On Tuesday, Devolution Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mwangi Kiunjuri said that governor elects will be sworn into office starting this to next week.
Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua and his Mandera counterpart Ali Roba are scheduled to be sworn into office today.
Kiunjuri also said that proper measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth transition in the county governments.
He said that new governors will be required to adhere the constitution while constructing their cabinets.
