During his first address to the county assembly, Waititu pleaded with MCAs to support his effort to curb sale and consumption of illicit brews as well as drug abuse to make the youth more productive.
"I am appealing to the assembly to support our efforts in making Kiambu a productive region for the sake of future generation", he said.
He said the Kiambu Alcohol Control Act 2013 had loopholes and should be amended to ensure the war on illicit brews is successful in the county.
The governor urged the assembly to pass laws that are people friendly and which will help spur economic growth by attracting more investors to invest in the county.
