Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has pledged to construct and rehabilitate roads in the county to ease transport.
Waititu noted a good road network will go a long way in reducing the cost of doing business and also enable residents reach crucial facilities in the county.
"My administration will buy a grader for each constituency to ensure roads are well maintained. We will also partner with other elected leaders and the national government to tarmac all access roads," he said on Friday.
Waititu promises comes a day after residents of Theta Ward in Juja protested over what they termed a shoddy job in the construction of a 4.7 km road that links the ward to Thika Superhighway.
The residents confronted Murtech contractors engineers saying the work done was shoddy and the quality did not match the amount allocated for the road.
"The Sh180 million that was set aside for this road is enough for quality work. This is unacceptable. We want Governor Waititu to intervene," said Francis Kimbimbi, a resident.
Waititu has announced that his government in partnership with Kiambu County Assembly will establish a Ward Development Fund to cater for the general infrastructure growth of its 60 wards.
