With days left to the Jubilee Party primaries, Kiambu Governor hopeful Ferdinand Waititu has exuded confidence of trouncing incumbent William Kabogo in the primaries.
Waititu says that he will defeat Kabogo with a huge margin in JP Primaries.
The Kiambu governor hopeful said that he has put in place proper mechanisms to ensure that he wins the JP ticket for a gubernatorial seat.
Speaking in Kabete Town on Sunday, Waititu asked Kabogo to prepare for a resounding defeat in JP primaries.
“Kabogo should start shopping for an alternative party because as it stands he will not win against me,” he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.Waititu claimed 90 percent of Kiambu locals are behind his gubernatorial bid. The Kabete MP urged locals to remain calm and come out in large numbers during the nomination on Friday.Waititu assured locals that he will agitate for their interests if they endorse his as the next Kiambu governor. The Kabete MP will be battling out with Kabogo in Kiambu gubernatorial JP nominations.According to political analysts, the battle between Kabogo and Waititu is among those to watch during JP primaries.Last week Kabogo launched his re-election campaign promising to show Waititu dust during JP nominations and subsequent August 8 polls.Kabogo said that his administration has performed to deserve re-election.Waititu enjoys the backing of four aspirants who dropped their bid in his support.Last month, James Nyoro, Reverend David Gakuyo, John Mugwe and businesswoman Njoki Gathendu vowed to support Waititu’s bid in efforts to send Kabogo packing.Waititu accuses Kabogo's government of neglecting locals and failing to create a good environment for both local and international investors.
