Former Embakasi MP and Nairobi gubernatorial candidate in the last general elections Ferdinard Waititu has hinted that he may be in the race for Kiambu governorship in the next general election.
The former Lawmaker was speaking in Kabete on Wednesday, where he took his campaign rally in quest to solicit for votes as the area parliamentary candidate with the JAP party.
He promised to work hard for the residents, saying roads, electricity, water and the education sector will be his main areas if elected.
Waititu further urged his fellow aspirants to shun abusive language and let the Kabete residents to democratically elect a leader of their choice.
“It is with no doubt that some of my aspirants are using the campaign to tarnish my reputation, allow Kabete people elect a leader of their choice peacefully,” he urged said.
The former MP further indicated that his service delivery in the area will qualify him for Kiambu governorship post come 2017.
The JAP nominations are scheduled to take place on Saturday March 14, where more than ten candidates have expressed their interest to vie for the hot post.
The decision of who will be the next Kabete Member of Parliament for now lies with the area residents, who are eagerly waiting for the set date.
The by-election happens after the demise of George Muchai, who met his death after he was shot by armed gangsters.
