The MP toured the region after residents complained over the poor sanitation and state of the market.

Waititu who was speaking on Thursday in Wangige, Kabete Constituency, said that the Wangige Market is in a bad state and traders are still selling their products which he says it’s unhygienic for the food vendors to trade in the region.

“I found our mothers selling their foods and other products but the state of market is pathetic. Plans will start on how to reconstruct the market to make it more hygienic and expand into a healthy environment,” said Waititu.

Waititu said that during his tour in the market, he found drunkard youths who have been wasted by illegal brews in the area saying it has broken his heart to see young leaders becoming slaves of illicit liquor.

The Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) legislator has fired warning to the pubs which have not been complying with the ‘Mututho law’ and Kenya Bureau of Standards rules stating he will order their licenses to be revoked.

The law maker further said that he has began his work officially to serve the people of Kabete and his office in Kiahuria region is open to discussions on how to make Kabete a place to admire.
