A Jubilee governor has asked NASA leader Raila Odinga to accept his old age and publicly declare his retirement from active politics.
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on Monday morning speaking at Kameme FM said Raila should join retired President Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki to enjoy his pension.
Waititu said opposition outfit will not win elections if Raila will continue serving as the official opposition leader.
“Raila is to blame for failing opposition to clinch the country’s top seat. It is time Raila declared publicly his retirement from active politics and join his old friends Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Moi to enjoy his pension and allow other young opposition leaders to take over the opposition roles in the country’s politics,” he said.
Waititu reiterated that Jubilee will be in power even after Uhuru retires in 2022.
“We are strong in Jubilee and we will clinch the presidency in 2022. There are capable leaders in the Jubilee party who will take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022,” Waititu added.
He called on DP William Ruto to stop panicking because 2022 is very far to decide on who should succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
