Jubilee leaders have vowed to stop a scheme by the National Super Alliance (NASA) to delay the repeat presidential election slated for October 26.Speaking during a campaign rally to drum up support for the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu said Jubilee will ensure the poll is conducted as scheduled."No scheme by Raila Odinga and his NASA brigade shall succeed this time as we are alert," said Waititu on Saturday in Thika town. The Governor was accompanied by MPs Patrick Wainaina (Thika Township), Simon King'ara (Ruiru), Peter Mwathi (Limuru), Jude Njomo (Kiambu Town), Francis Munyua (Juja) and a host of MCAs.The leaders also said NASA politicians were not interested in the fresh election because they had sensed defeat."NASA leaders have been pestering President Kenyatta and DP Ruto behind the scenes for a power-sharing deal after realising Uhuru will defeat Raila again," said King'ara. However, speaking in Kangemi on Sunday, NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga ruled out a coalition government expressing confidence that the opposition would clinch the country's top seat."We don't want a 'nusu-mkate' government. We know we will win in the election if they are held in a transparent manner. We don't want to share,” said Raila.NASA has threatened to boycott the polls if IEBC does not meet its demands which include sacking CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials who, according to the opposition, bungled the August 8 presidential election.
