President Uhuru Kenyatta's elder sister Christina Wambui has called on Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and his deputy James Nyoro to unite and work towards changing the lives of Kiambu people.
Speaking in Kiambu Town on Sunday during a church function, Wambui said that no development can be achieved when top leaders are engaged in wrangles and unnecessary fights.
This comes in as rumours continue milling around that Waititu and Nyoro are in a difficult working relationship with some saying that Nyoro is even contemplating resigning from his position.
"We would like you to be more united than before. We will be behind you to support your efforts to bring the much needed transformation in Kiambu County.
"We want to see Kiambu ahead of all the other counties as the President's county. We should be an example to the rest. Remember also this is the Kenya's founding father county and we should do things rightly in his honour," said Wambui.
Wambui also lauded Waititu's concerted efforts to end the manufacture, sale and consumption of substandard and illicit brews in the county.
"Nothing can be achieved in a society where people wake up in the morning headed to the bars. It is unfortunate that it is our most productive people (youths) who have been doing this and that is why we are happy that the governor is working hard to bring alcoholism in Kiambu to a halt," she added.
