Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has joined the move that has taken effect countrywide to fight against the illicit brew in Kiambu County.
On Tuesday the governor led a meeting at Chania ward, which was graced by Internal Security and Coordinator of National Government, Dr. Fred Matiang'i, deputy Governor of Kiambu Dr. Nyoro, Kiambu MPs and MCA's in support for the fight for illicit brew.
The CS who joined other legislators on pouring the illicit brew, congratulated the move by the county government to ban the manufacturing, consumption and sale of illicit brews.
"Let the National Government join hands with the county government. This is a collective war that needs support from across the board," Matiang'i said.
The Kiambu governor also opined that the county will not relent on the fight saying that they will sensitize residents against illicit brew.
"As a county government, we will not relent in this war of saving our young generation. More so we will come up with a system program to ensure anybody who undergoes rehabilitation is economically supported," Waititu added.
