Wajir County Governor Mohamed Abdi has said ward reps will identify development projects to be done in their respective wards.
He said this will help alleviate poverty, unemployment and inequality.
Abdi noted that the ward reps have a role to play in identification, mobilization and consensus building in their respective wards for the growth of the county.
“The county will implement about 300 development projects in the wards this financial year. This will help improve lives of our people at the grassroots level,” he said.
He noted that the projects will be consolidated in 10 days and be captured in the county supplementary budget.
The county boss said the Finance executive will ensure the development projects in the wards are implemented and paid for by the third quarter of the financial year.
Wajir county has a total of 30 wards and the governor has promised to allocate Sh25 million to every ward this financial year.
