Eldas MP Adan Keynan is the only MP who survived and managed to defend his seat successfully on the Jubilee ticket.
In the governor's race, Mohamed Abdi of Jubilee beat incumbent by garnering 49,029 votes against 35,572 of Ahmed Abdullahi of ODM.
Abdi lost to Abdullahi in 2013, and has promised to unite all residents and serve them equally without discrimination.
Jubilee's Abdullahi Ali beat his main rival Abikar Adow of Kanu to clinch the Senate seat after garnering 35,236 against Adow’s 26,771.
Ali congratulated his rival for “a race well-fought”.
As the newly elected leaders promised to unite the politically polarised county, it emerged that the county’s three major clans have been represented in the county top positions.
Wajir South Mp elect Sheikh Omar and Keynan are the only Jubilee MPs in the county.
Rashid Kassim leads the list of opposition legislators elect he won the Wajir East race on the Wiper ticket.
Ahmed Kolosh of ODM won the Wajir West MP race, while Ahmed Abdisalan sailed through in the Wajir North race on the ODM ticket.
Sitting 30 MCAs, only 2 managed to defend their seats successfully.
This will give the second county assembly a new look.
