Police in Kisauni, Mombasa County, have gunned down one youth suspected to be a member of the Wakali Kwanza gang.
Confirming the Friday incident, Kisauni Deputy OCPD Walter Abondo said a group of youth attacked two women at Hongera area, in Kisauni, who were on their way to the market.
The OCPD said police who were patrolling the area rushed to the women’s rescue, killing one suspect, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
“Our officers were on patrol at around 5am. During the course of patrolling the area, they encountered a group of youth attacking two women who were heading to the market. One of the suspects was gunned down,” he said.
Abondo said one of his officers sustained panga injuries on his right hand.
This comes after women in the area raised concerns over the notorious gang sexually harassing them by sucking their breasts.
On Thursday, two terror suspects were gunned down in Kisauni following a raid on their house in Junda.
