Dr. Kariuki Muigua at a past function. [Photo/ capitalfm.co.ke]Cabinet Secretary for Environment Judi Wakhungu has gazetted the appointment of Dr. Kariuki Muigua, an Environmental Law and Policy consultant to the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) Tribunal.
On Friday while acknowledging his appointment Dr. Muigua said that he was delighted for the call and he will work diligently to contribute to the success of the tribunal.
“I am pleased by the honour bestowed on me by the government to serve on the National Environment Tribunal which is crucial quasi-judicial institution,” Dr. Muigua said.
He said that he will ensure strict compliance to the relevant Environmental laws that exist while still serving on the tribunal.
“As a member of the tribunal, I shall strive to play a key role by contributing to the Environmental Law body of knowledge fairly and efficiently while ensuring strict compliance with the applicable Environmental Management Laws,” he added.
Dr. Muigua holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Nairobi. He also received Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental audit from NEMA.
He is also the lead consultant and expert at Pristine Consultants, an Environmental Law and Policy Consultancy drawing its clientele from Kenya and around the world.
